Badge Challenge
Step 39 of 43 in the course
Four questions, one for each letter of SCAN, plus two more. All six right to earn the badge.
1. S — A boy has come off his bike on the other side of the road. What do you do first?
2. C — Which of these means you ring 911 rather than a parent?
3. A — Somebody has a deep cut that is bleeding. What do you do, in order?
4. N — Once it is over, what do you do?
5. Somebody has twisted their ankle badly. What is RICE?
6. Everybody in the house has a headache and feels sick and sleepy, and there is no obvious reason. What do you do?
Badge earned
You can tell an emergency from a mess, you know SCAN, and you know what to do about bleeding, sprains and the things that need 911. That is the First Aid badge.
A certificate is issued by SOS 4 Kids to the parent or guardian on record. Certificates carry an expiry date — safety knowledge is refreshed, not filed away.
