There was a moment beforehand
- Think back over this whole course. The fire that started in the kitchen. The fall on the stairs. The cut from the broken glass.
- Almost every one of them had a moment beforehand.
- This is not about being careful all the time, which nobody manages.
- It is about knowing the handful of things that actually cause accidents at home, and dealing with them once.

Broken glass, since it comes up every time
- Do not pick it up with your fingers.
- Sweep the big pieces with a brush and pan.
- Then press a damp paper towel over the area for the splinters you cannot see.
- Then tell a grown-up — every time, even once it is cleaned up.

Step 1 — Rewind. Three accidents from earlier in the course, each rewound a few seconds to the moment somebody could have moved something, waited, or slowed down. The rewind is the whole device.
Step 2 — Brush, pan, damp paper towel. A glass breaks off screen. The correct sequence in close-up: big pieces with a brush and pan, then a damp paper towel pressed over the area, then telling a parent. No hands near the glass at any point.
