Watch a conversation go wrong
Watch, then decide. The next step only opens when you have it right.
Step 1 of 2
Step 1 of 2
It starts with somebody being nice
- It starts, like they all do, with somebody being nice about something you are good at.
- Nothing in it is frightening. That is exactly what makes it worth seeing.
- Go through the conversation below one message at a time.
Watch, then answer this
The first message is a compliment about your soccer. Is that a warning sign?
Step 2 of 2
And then it asks to move somewhere private
You have seen this one before, in another badge. Same moment, same rule.
- Then the questions get slightly more personal, one at a time, each one only a little further than the last.
- Then it moves somewhere private, away from anybody who might see.
- Then it asks you to keep it to yourself.
- Any one of those alone is nothing. All of them in a row is the pattern.
Your turn
Which part of the conversation is the actual red flag?
That is this lesson.
You watched it, you made the call yourself, and you got it right. That is the whole lesson — nothing here was read to pass.
The pattern, so you can spot it anywhere
- A compliment about something you are proud of.
- Something in common — they play too, they like the same thing.
- Questions that narrow down where you are, one at a time, spread out so that no single one feels like much. Which league. Which night. Where is the next game.
- Mirroring you the moment you hesitate, so that you relax again.
Every step is friendly. That is the point — none of it looks like danger while it is happening, which is why you learn the shape of it rather than waiting for a feeling.
What to do
Stop replying. Screenshot it. Block them. Tell a trusted adult. In that order, and you do not owe them a goodbye message.
Now do it
Off the screen, before you leave this page
Watching is not the same as being able to do it. Stand up and work through these. Nothing here is marked and nothing is sent anywhere — the ticks are yours.

Read what happens in each clip instead
Step 1 — Nice about the thing you are good at. A friendly message arriving about something the child is good at — soccer. Their face lights up. Completely warm, completely ordinary. Nothing in this shot should feel like a warning; that is precisely the lesson.
Step 2. The same clip you saw earlier in the course, shown again because the rule is the same one.
Every film on this page is narrated and carries a caption track, supplied as a sidecar and never burned into the picture.
