The Your Footprint Badge Challenge
6 questions from the 3 lessons in this badge. You need every one right, and you can try as many times as you like.
Step 1 of 6
1Decide
Which of these gives a stranger the most?
Right. A crest is a school, and a school is a place you are five days a week at the same time. Nothing you could type in a caption is as useful to a stranger as that.
Not the big one. A first name is shared with half your year, and one timestamp is one dot. The crest is a place and a time, every weekday. Look at what is on you, not what is written under you.
Pick the right one to carry on.
2Find them
Which of these say where you are, without saying it?
Tap the ones that count.
Find all 4.
3Decide
Which of these actually needs your location to work?
Right. And even maps only needs it while you are looking at it. While Using is one setting. Always is a different setting, and almost nothing on your phone deserves it.
It uses your location. That is not the same as needing it. The game finds nearby players with it; the photo app tags the beach; the music app suggests local gigs. All of that works fine without. Needs means it breaks without it, and only maps breaks.
Pick the right one to carry on.
4Find them
Which of these can a shared location give away?
Tap the ones that count.
Find all 4.
5Decide
You find an old account with a weak password and photos of your house. First move?
Right. Getting control of it comes before anything else. Once the password is yours and long, you can delete it properly or lock it private in your own time, and nobody else can post as you while you think.
Control first. Deleting the photos helps, but the account is still open with a password from when you were nine, and anyone who guesses it can post as you. Leaving it means the same thing with the photos still up. Log in, change the password, then choose.
Pick the right one to carry on.
6Find them
Which of these are worth doing to an account you no longer use?
Tap the ones that count.
Find all 3.
