Yes. If she really is from the school she will leave a message and be glad you took it. If she is not, she has learned nothing. The script is polite to the real ones and useless to the others, which is why it is the script.

Right. If Mum did say so, she will say so in ten seconds and the kit can go on the step. A coach who is fine with that is fine. Notice the check is not rude. It is the same check you would do for anyone, and he can see you doing it.
