Right. Line one. Apps change every month; what the phone is for does not. That one line settles every new-app argument for a year.
Too vague, or too long. “Be sensible” means whatever the person reading it wants it to mean, which is exactly the argument you are trying to avoid. And a list of every app is out of date by Friday. Line one is what it is for.

Where does it charge tonight?
Right. Face-down, in the kitchen, plugged in, before you went up. Rule one, rule two and rule three, all in one picture.
Same room, same problem. Under the pillow is the bedside table with extra steps. Rule one is the room, not the surface. If it can light up where you can see it, it will, and you will look.

Right. Show, do not describe. The parent sees the thing itself, not your summary of it, and can help with the actual problem. With the promise in place, the phone stays yours.
The thing on the phone is not the worst part. Carrying it alone is. “Fine” and “wait” both mean you handle it by yourself tonight, and tomorrow, and it is still there. The promise exists so you do not have to.
