If a picture of you is faked
Know that a faked picture of you is not your fault and is reportable, and do the four steps in order.

A picture you were never in
The fake
A phone showing a photo that is clearly the kid's face on somebody else, somewhere she has never been, sent to her with 'is this you lol'.
Your face, from your own posts. The rest, made up. It takes one app and a few minutes.
2The idea
It is not your fault and it is reportable
A faked picture of you, doing or wearing something you never did, is somebody else’s action. It is not your fault, whatever is in it, and every major app has a report route built specifically for it. If the fake is one with your clothes off, the same is true, and the police have a route for it too.
Arguing about it in the chat does nothing except tell them it worked. You do not have to prove it is fake to anyone. The moves are quieter than that, and they are the same moves whatever the picture shows.
3The idea
Four steps, in this order
1. Screenshot it, with the sender’s name and the time showing. Before anything else, because it can be deleted.
2. Do not reply. Not to deny it, not to laugh it off. Nothing.
3. Report it in the app. On the post, and on the profile that sent it.
4. Tell an adult tonight, with the screenshots.
Do not reply comes before report because a reply keeps you in the chat and tells the sender it landed. Report comes before tell only because it takes thirty seconds and you are already holding the phone. If you can only remember one thing: screenshot, then put the phone down and find a grown-up.
4The idea
Watch it work once
A faked picture of Dan lands in a group chat: is this you lol. His face is on somebody else’s body, somewhere he has never been. He screenshots it with the sender’s name. He does not reply. He leaves the group, reports the post and the profile, and shows his mum before bed.
By the next day the chat has moved on, and nobody who mattered thought it was real. Dan never typed a word into that group. He did not have to prove anything to anyone, and he was not the only person holding it by ten o’clock.
5Build it
What to do, in order
Four steps, shuffled
Screenshot it with the sender's name. Do not reply. Report it in the app. Tell an adult tonight. Tap them into the order you do them, and the card explains why 'do not reply' comes before 'report'.
In order. The screenshot has to come before anything that might make it disappear.
6Decide
Somebody sends a faked picture of you to a group chat. Your first message is:
Pick one to carry on.
7Say it
What you say when you tell
Say it plainly
“Someone made a fake picture of me. I need help reporting it.”
That is the whole sentence. You do not have to explain what is in it, and you do not have to have done anything wrong to say it.

Thirty seconds to report
The report button
A thumb on a phone. Tap the three dots on a post. Tap Report. Pick the reason from the list. Then the profile: three dots, Report. The film ends on the thumb over Submit.
