The framework: Prevent, Detect, Escape
Presented as “Fire safety… as simple as 1-2-3.”
Prevent — To prevent fires, plan ahead and know what to do. Teaching points recovered: What do you use if the power goes out? and Should you use ANY appliances that create heat?
Detect — Early detection of smoke and fire is critical! Built around smoke detectors.
Escape — If your senses tell you there is a fire… GET OUT FAST!**
The escape rules
Seven rules, stated as real text:
- Touch the door, not the handle.
- Use the nearest stairway.
- If there is smoke, cover your mouth and stay close to the ground.
- Never go back for anything.
- Don’t stop for anything.
- Stop, drop and roll.
- Call 911 or EMS from a neighbor’s.
These are the strongest single block of recovered content in the whole course — safety-critical, complete, and already in plain text.
Six steps
The module walks through six numbered steps (“Step 2” through “Step 6” as separate screens). Their content is graphical and could not be recovered.
The quiz — six questions
Every question is real text, and each is a scenario rather than a bare fact. This is the best-written quiz in the course.
Q1. You are in your bedroom, playing on your laptop when the alarm goes off. You need to get out quick. You touch the door (not the handle) and it is cool. Should you exit out the door or the window? → Door / Window

A serious problem
The quiz screen contains the text “Needs feedback to be programmed.”
This is a developer’s note to themselves, left inside the shipped course. It means the six questions above were never wired up to tell a child whether they got it right or wrong.
So a child taking this module answers six fire-safety questions and receives no correction. If they answer “run through the smoke” or “go back for the laptop,” nothing tells them otherwise.
This is the most serious content defect found anywhere in the six modules, and it sits in the module where a wrong answer has the worst real-world consequence.
