Dial moves, you move

The dial leaves Fine. That is your signal. You do not wait to see what happens next.

Stop. Look. Find a grown-up you know.
Stop: stop what you are doing.
Look: find their face.
Find: walk to them.

You do not need a reason

You do not have to be rude. You do not have to explain. You do not have to wait for the person to finish talking.

I felt funny is a whole reason. You never need a better one. Nobody will ask you to prove it.

Mia on the swing

Mia is on the swing. A grown-up she does not know sits on the next one and talks. Her tummy goes tight.

She stops swinging. She looks for Dad on the bench. She walks over. She says I felt funny. That is the whole move. Nothing had to happen first.

5Say it

What you say when you get there

Say this in your normal voice

“I felt funny so I came to find you.”

Say it to the grown-up. That is all they need to hear.

What does she do next?

Right. Nothing had to happen first. The dial moved, so she moved.

You do not have to be rude. You also do not have to stay. Stop. Look. Walk to your grown-up. That is the whole move.
